The Bible is the core text of the Christian faith, and different denominations often have different preferences and needs when using the Bible. Therefore, when printing the Bible, it is crucial to choose the right version. The choice of Bible versions by different denominations mainly depends on factors such as theological stance, language style, readability, and church tradition.

1. Catholic Bible Selection

The Catholic Church uses a Bible containing 73 books, including the seven apocryphal books of the Old Testament (such as Tobit, Maccabees, etc.). **The Douay-Rheims Bible is the traditional Catholic Bible version, while the New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) and the New American Bible (NAB)** are more suitable for modern believers. These versions are widely used in Catholic rituals and academic research.

2. Orthodox Bible Selection

The Orthodox Church usually uses the Septuagint (LXX) as the basis of the Old Testament and contains more apocryphal books than the Catholic Church. For example, the Orthodox Study Bible is based on the Septuagint and is a commonly used printed version for Eastern Orthodox believers. In addition, some churches also use Cyrillic Bibles or Eastern Orthodox English translations.

3. Protestant Bible Choices

Protestant faiths generally use 66 canonical books, excluding the Apocrypha. Different Protestant denominations have different preferences for the translation style of the Bible:

Evangelicals tend to use the New International Version (NIV) or the English Standard Version (ESV) because they balance faithful translation with readability.

Reformed churches usually prefer the English Standard Version (ESV) or the New American Standard Version (NASB), emphasizing fidelity to the original text.

Charismatics prefer the New Living Translation (NLT) or the Modern English Version (MEV) because they are easy to understand.

4. Bible versions of other denominations

Jehovah's Witnesses mainly use the New World Translation (NWT).

Mormons use the Book of Mormon in addition to the Bible, but recommend the King James Version (KJV) as the standard Bible version.

Seventh-day Adventists tend to use the King James Version (KJV) or the New American Bible (NAB).

5. Choose the right printed Bible

When printing a Bible, you also need to consider the font size, annotation content, binding quality, and paper type. For example, a large print version is suitable for older believers, a version with footnotes is suitable for theological researchers, and a portable version is suitable for missionary work or daily reading.

Regardless of which denomination you belong to, choosing the right printed Bible version can help believers better understand and practice their faith.
